About the Perception of the Term OASIS in the Urban Grid

The origin of the term "Oasis" is tightly knit to the term of desert. With the ever existing human goal of finding places with water, fruits and refreshments, in todays world the term "Oasis" also stands for locations of cultural and physical recreation. As such, locations can contain a certain message or profile, and function as intersection in the urban grid of everyday occurrence. This talk is illuminated by projects of Haus-Rucker-Co, personal works of Zamp Kelp and others.

Speaker
Günter Zamp Kelp, Co-founder of the Seminal Viennese Architectural Collective, Haus-Rucker-Co
