Global Shakespeare and the Digital Humanities

“Global Shakespeare and the Digital Humanities” is the fourth in a series of NYUAD conferences devoted to examining how Shakespeare’s plays and poems have become part of global cultural heritage. This conference examines one potential future for Shakespeare studies, as it investigates the implications of translating Shakespeare’s work not only into languages other than English but also into the digital realm, which makes “global” adaptations of Shakespeare available to local audiences in unprecedented ways.

Convened by
Cyrus RK Patell, Professor of Literature, NYUAD; Professor of English, NYU
David Wrisley, Associate Professor of Digital Humanities, NYUAD
Katherine Williams, Assistant Professor; Graduate Faculty, University of Toronto
