Diplomacy in the Age of Social Media and Fake News 

Digital diplomacy has become one of the most important tools of diplomacy for any country that should not be overlooked. With the rapid technological advancement, the media landscape has changed, and there are threats emerge and undermine the trust that the global public has for the institutions of the digital diplomacy. This panel discussion examines how some governments manipulate public opinion through both open and sometimes hidden circulations of false information so-called fake news through social media in order to undermine public confidence in rival countries as well as delves into the role of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat..etc) as a fuel of fake news.
