Turning the Tide "Interventions to Reduce the Increasing Burden of NCDs" 

The Middle East faces an emerging health crisis due to the large and rapidly increasing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), particularly cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, cancers and mental health disorders. NCDs already account for 50% of the total burden of disease in the region but by 2030 this figure is expected to be 80%. This second conference examines what the evidence points to as promising interventional strategies to reduce NCD risk factors and prevent disease, with a focus on interdisciplinary and multisectoral approaches.
